System Requirements
To successfully install this Software you will need:
  • Windows Operating System
  • SolidWorks 98Plus or later.
  • Note: If you have a SolidWorks version earlier than 98Plus, you will not be able to read the Solids Parts from the Library. If you have a release prior to 98Plus, please contact CadParts, and we will attempt to provide you with a library compatible with your release of SolidWorks.


Installation of Software:
After downloading this Demonstration Version of CadParts (aprox 2,601KB in size), you must use a UNZIP program, such as winzip ( www.winzip.com)to unzip and expand the file. It is recommended the creation of a folder where all the files can be expanded. Once expanded, you can double-click “Setup.exe” in the downloaded directory. This will start the installation of the Software. Follow the instructions presented during the installation. Fastener File Name
The file names for the fasteners will probably seem strange to you. We have included a form that explains the code and the meaning of the file naming system. We have tried to make a system that has meaning, which allows a designer to identify the type, size, length, and material of a fastener by looking at the code.
As default, the “Title” of the fastener is the same as the file name. When a Bill of Materials is automatically generated on your Assembly Drawings, the “Title” of the fastener will appear in the column “Part No”. However, the “Description” that will appear on the Bill of Material is a standard call out as specified in the Industrial Fastener Institute (IFI) Handbook.
